El escenario climático continúa estable en el corto plazo, pero en el mediano plazo se observa el riesgo de que la campaña 2020/2021 sea afectada por un episodio de «la niña».
ESTADO DEL SISTEMA CLIMÁTICO
El Océano Pacífico Tropical permanece en un estado “neutral
cálido” por lo cual su influencia en la marcha del clima es poco
notoria, ya que no se encuentran activos ni “El Niño” ni “La
Niña”.
En cambio, el Océano Atlántico muestra alteraciones más
definidas, que afectan diferencialmente a las distintas áreas
agrícolas sudamericanas.
El Océano Atlántico Tropical se calentó en toda su extensión,
activando las precipitaciones sobre el centro y el norte del
Brasil y otras áreas sujetas a su influencia hasta fines de
2020.
Contrariamente, el Atlántico Subtropical Sur se enfrió,
complicando la expectativa de lluvias durante la primavera y
el invierno 2020, en las zonas subtropicales de Sudamérica,
que abarcan el sur de Bolivia, la mayor parte del Paraguay,
La Argentina, el Uruguay y el sur del Brasil.
Se espera que hacia la primavera 2020, estos factores
negativos reduzcan su actividad, permitiendo la reactivación
de las precipitaciones en la mayor parte del Cono Sur.
No obstante, algunas fuentes señalan la posibilidad de
desarrollo de un episodio de “La Niña”, que causaría sequía
en el sur de Bolivia, el Paraguay, La Argentina, el Uruguay y
el sur del Brasil, al mismo tiempo que provocaría excesos en
el centro y norte del Brasil y otras regiones tropicales. Esta
hipótesis se ve reforzada por el calentamiento del Pacífico
Asiático, que resulta coherente con el desarrollo de un
episodio de “La Niña”.
